Abstrac:

This paper presents an overview of developments in the history of anthropology in Argentina, and formulates several theoretical-epistemological reflections on the task of anthropologists doing research in this field. First, data evidencing growth in the last few years are deployed as well as the mainstream ways to build the discipline’s past. Then a few axes of reflection and analysis are suggested, and finally a review is made of the processes and discussions dynamizing these studies today. This work is an outcome of an ongoing research project, including bibliographical and documentary gathering, and a set of field records collected in various academic events (conferences, workshops and so on) to discuss the history of anthropology in Argentina.
