Abstract:
This paper aims to analyze a series of reflections around the phenomenon of ideology as an analytical tool. To do this, some central components in Teun van Dijk’s model will be analyzed so that the link between ideology and power is highlighted. Slavoj Žižek’s perspective will be brought in to help think of the ideology-truth relationship; ultimately, certain Pierre Bourdieu’s concepts will be analyzed to bring forward the issue of ideology and symbolic violence. Thus, this study aims to provide an array of ideological perspectives on the phenomenon by demonstrating there are different levels of analysis and various possibilities to a conceptual approach of it.
