Abstract:
Franz Josef Hinkelammert (1931-2023) was the greatest contemporary Latin American critical thinker. His work exposes how ideology-driven, fetishist, and domineering the modernity civilizing project is, and how irrational its instrumental scientific reason is, and that they are to blame for the deep crisis human kind has been sunk throughout the 21 st century. Being born in Emsdetten, Germany, Hinkelammert was in his teen years impacted by the ordeal of the Second World War, the rise of Nazism, and the annihilation of the Jewish people. He completed his bachelor in Economics while studying philosophy and theology in Freiburg, Hamburg and Münster.
