Abstract:

This article describes the most important articulations of youth identities in the city of SantaMarta, in the Colombian Caribbean region. Hence, it contrasts the most relevant figures inthe spectrum of youth experiences and subjectivities in their close relationships with differentsorts of music. It shows, then, that these youth identities can be differentiated into sets ofhegemonic figures (champetuo, pupy, yuquero) and alternative ones (harcoreto, electrónico).
