Abstract:
In this text, the authors reflect upon silencing moves around the terms colony/settler colonial/coloniality in Latin America, as well as the ways how historical tense, obliterations, denials, and absence are represented. We will call into question the disciplinary challenge to portray conquest as a trans-historical way of dominance. Also, the uses and boundaries of the notion of coloniality are discussed.
Keywords: temporality, conquistualidad, silencing, postcolonialism.
